The Time Is NOW to Walk for Freedom, a virtual challenge to honor those who suffered under the horrors of slavery in the past and those still enslaved today. In Ghana, on Lake Volta alone, an estimated 20,000 children are trapped in slavery—forced to work, abused, and forgotten. We cannot close our eyes to their suffering. This October, we will walk 100 miles in two weeks in honor of Monica, a brave young girl who walked 100 miles to escape her captors and unimaginable abuse. Her courage is our call to action. Walk with us—to honor, remember, and advocate for those who need us to be their voice, their legs, their freedom.

Monica’s story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. She walked barefoot, without food or help, desperately searching for safety. Shunned and mistreated, she endured horrors no child should ever face. Even today, she communicates very little. We don’t know if her disability came from the abuse or made her a target—but her suffering was profound. And yet, Monica’s courage shines. Against all odds, she survived. Today, she is safe at the Nurturing Nations campus, slowly healing and reclaiming her life. Her resilience reminds us why we must act.

The time is NOW to Walk for Freedom—freedom from hunger, slavery, discrimination, and abuse. It costs nothing to participate, but every step, every invitation, and every donation brings us closer to freedom for children who are suffering. Walk the 100 miles on your own or form a team and complete the challenge together. Each step honors a child. Each mile spreads awareness. Each act of generosity helps build a world where children can live free, loved, and safe. Join us October 10–24, 2025, and together, step by step, heart by heart, we will Walk for Freedom.

There is no registration fee to participate in the Walk for Freedom Challenge. We understand that finances can be tight, and participation is open to everyone. However, we kindly ask that each participant invite at least five family members or friends to join the walk and donate what they can. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a sacred act of compassion that helps feed the hungry, clothe the naked, liberate the captive, and lift the hands that hang down. We are truly honored to have you join us in this campaign—your steps and your generosity make a lasting difference. Thank you!
